Full System Blow-Out
We use a commercial-grade compressor to force compressed air through every zone, fully clearing water from the lines before it can freeze and crack.
๐
Backflow Preventer Shutdown
Your backflow preventer is one of the most expensive parts to replace. We shut it down and insulate it properly so it survives the winter.
๐๏ธ
Controller Shutdown
We put your controller into "rain" or "off" mode for the season so there's no risk of it firing up during a warm spell.
๐
Zone-by-Zone Verification
Every zone is run through the blow-out process individually to make sure no water gets left behind anywhere in the system.
๐ง
Valve & Head Inspection
While we're there, we note any heads or valves that are showing wear so you know what to expect in the spring, no surprise repair bills.

Service Summary
We leave you with a clear record of everything that was done, and flag anything that should be addressed before spring startup.
New England winters are brutal on irrigation systems. Water expands when it freezes, and even a small amount left in your pipes, valves, or heads can crack them wide open. A single freeze event can turn a $100 winterization into a $500โ$1,500 repair bill come spring.
We've seen it every year, homeowners who skip the blow-out or try to do it themselves with an undersized compressor end up calling us in April with cracked manifolds, blown heads, and valves that won't open. The fix almost always costs more than the winterization would have.
Book before the first hard freeze. In Metro West, that typically hits in late October to early November. Slots fill up fast in October, so earlier is better.
In Natick, Framingham, Sudbury, and surrounding towns, the ground typically
freezes between late October and mid-November. We recommend scheduling your
blow-out by October 15th to guarantee availability, our slots fill up fast
once the forecast drops below 40ยฐF.
Towns like Holliston and Hopkinton tend to freeze slightly earlier than
areas closer to Boston. If you're further west, don't wait until the last week
of October.
